Apart from grants making, the Foundation provides a range of development services. These are Capacity Building, Partnership Outreach and Networks Enhancement, Research, Information Management and Marketing: |

|
- Tailor Made Training –Training crafted to enhance capacity of CSOs on various areas like policy analysis, financial management, organisation development, and advocacy and lobbying. The Foundation normally establishes capacity needs from the CSOs before coming up with a proposal for capacity building/development intervention.
- Grants Management Training to new grant holders – After any CSO is awarded grant from the Foundation, three day training is organised to give highlights to the new grantees on how to manage their projects. These types of training are designed to enable grantees to implement their projects to the intended outcomes. They cover areas from project cycle, financial management, reporting, monitoring and evaluation.
- Public Policy Dialogues (PPD) – These are careful planned events. They aim at bringing together different stakeholders to discuss and chat a way forward on various developmental issues. The stakeholders are primarily CSOs representatives (smallholder farmers, NGOs representatives, the vulnerable, women, men and the youth), also government officials from different levels and the general public. Since November 2005, The Foundation is liaising with regional CSOs networks to organise these policy discussions dubbed "Ulingo wa Maendeleo". The PPD also works as a strategy in enhancing the capacity of CSO to engage in policy issues at local level. Since November 2005, PPD have been organised in Mwanza, Morogoro, Rukwa, Kigoma and Dodoma. They have also been in Musoma, Arusha, Iringa, Zanzibar and Mtwara. Many burning issues (on poverty, good governance, health, education, water and agriculture as well as participatory democracy) were brought to the limelight. CSO's came up with concrete action plans for follow up.
- Research – The Foundation conduct research on the state of CSOs in Tanzania. The first research was conducted in 2000 prior to the formation of the Foundation.
- Partnership, Outreach and Networks Building- This is another area in which the Foundation creates opportunity for CSOs in the regions and districts to learn, share and appreciate the notion of working together.
- Monitoring and backstopping visits – In 2005, the Foundation adopted a philosophy known as “outcome investor approach”. According to this philosophy, the organisation is sharing and trying to be as much closer as possible with stakeholders (grantees). The purpose is to enable mutual sharing of experiences, challenges and success for mutual benefits of our investments. The Grants and Development Department conduct regular field visits for monitoring and providing backstopping to grantees.
- Marketing, Information Management and Dissemination - Under Information Management and Dissemination we work to generate information, sift and share with our stake holders. We also share information through CSO Annual Forums, Information Sessions, and through Information Center in the regions. Other means of sharing our information is through media engagement, newsletter and website
